Variations

Meals that are easy to substitute and customize are some of the best meals around. You can easily make this meal with whatever you have on hand.

No Chicken and Apple Sausage?
While I highly recommend getting the chicken and apple sausage links, they are seriously so yummy! If you don’t have them and need something quick for dinner, you can easily switch it out for diced chicken. It will still taste good; it will just have a different flavor because the sausage packs a flavor with every bite.

Vegetables?
This meal you can basically use whatever vegetables you have and want to include. I’ve used broccoli in it and it’s also good with it! I know some people may not like zucchini or bell peppers, so feel free to leave them out! Want a red onion instead of a yellow onion? Go for it. Make this meal yours. If you’re making it and eating it, you may as well enjoy it.

Seasoning?
I don’t typically add a lot of chili powder because I do have littles that I cook for. Feel free to leave it out or add as much as you want. I love the flavor that it gives so I do add a bit to ours. If you have a seasoning mix you enjoy, feel free to use it! I’ve used a Cajun seasoning mix with this meal when I was feeling a bit lazy and it was still delicious! My littles didn’t enjoy it as much because it does have a bit more heat to it.

How To Store

My husband absolutely loves when we have leftovers of this meal. It reheats well, even in the microwave, so he will often take it to work for his lunch.

I do recommend storing it in your favorite container, my favorite is an air-tight glass container, and I can store it in the fridge for 3-5 days. The sooner you eat it the better, but it should last a few days at least in the fridge.

Chicken Sausage Sheet Pan

I’d love to know if you tried this meal. It’s honestly one of my favorites and takes just minutes before I pop it into the oven. It’s perfect for those crazy nights where I don’t want to even think about dinner. It’s just that easy.

My Homemade Chocolate Milk is the BOMB! It’s so good and much better than the crap you get from the store. All with basic ingredients that everyone has in their home already. It’s the best.
