But the truth is this: you can make plenty of cheap pantry meals using simple ingredients you already have at home.
These are very similar to all my meals in a bag, but just with a twist. These are just made from ingredients that you typically already have on hand and found in most pantries. They are budget friendly and great for last minute dinner needs.

Tips for Stocking a Mom-Friendly Pantry
If you’re not used to having a stocked pantry, there are some things you can do to help.
When you do your regular grocery shopping, there’s a rule out there that you buy 3 of what you need. 1 for now, 2 for later. I love this approach because it can help build up your pantry so fast and in a great way. You’re buying what you’re already using. If money is a bit tight, just buy 2 if you can. 1 for now and 1 for later.
Buy in bulk. When you buy in bulk typically you can save money and it also gives you more food than you would use, making it so that you can store the rest in your pantry.
Budget for building up your pantry. You can set aside a certain amount of money each week/month depending on your budget and then take that money and buy some staples your family uses a lot.
If you do have a pantry with some extras inside, make sure that you do rotate your food, but also that if you take something from the pantry, that you replace it with your next grocery trip. That way you will always have a full pantry for your family.
Make sure that what you by for your pantry is food your family will eat, keeping in mind any picky eaters or people with special dietary needs.
